Summary:
Manages and ensures success of field surveyor/point setter.
Creates 3D models for staking and machine-control.
Troubleshooting machine-control on heavy equipment.
Calibration of machine-control on heavy equipment.
Managing the localization of construction sites, topographical surveys, and construction staking.
Use contract drawings, specifications, and survey equipment to layout points, ROW, grades, etc.
Use various surveying techniques and equipment such as total stations, robotic total stations, GPS, laser levels, and site levels for construction layout.
Manage and analyze as-built surveys of completed work in an efficient and timely manner.
Maintain a detailed daily field log for record-keeping purposes.
Approximately 70% of duties will be performed indoors in a normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, air conditions and noise levels.
Approximately 30%% of duties will be performed outdoors where there will be routine exposure to significant levels of heat, cold, moisture, wind, and dust.

year survey experience in construction staking and topographic surveys Requires high school diploma In-depth knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy civil construction work such as staking and surveying in the Building and Roadway Related trades using GPS equipment, Conventional Level, and/or Robotic Instruments.
Knowledge in the principles of mathematics and relative sciences for compliance with survey requirements Ability to work within very precise limits or standards of accuracy, in all field conditions.
Ability to read and comprehend design drawings, specifications, and computers.
Has in-depth understanding of the methods and calculations involved in leveling, traversing, topographic (cross-section) surveys, construction surveys, mapping, and determining quantities and volumes.
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
Ability to use Topcon GPS survey equipment, grading lasers and other tools properly and safely.
Ability to use AutoCAD or Agtek software is a plus Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments without supervision Must be organized Must be self-motivated Must be a team player Must meet all essential physical requirements necessary to do this job.
